The Stock Market closed early today, being Good Friday, so Elijah was done with work around noon. He wanted to take charge of the field trip for this week, so I got the kids in the car and picked him up. He said he had something special in mind. We drove down to San Jose and visited the Tech Museum of Innovation. I'm sure you are thinking "That's special?" Well, let me clarify. The Tech Museum was hosting a special exhibition "Star Trek: Where science meets science fiction." Most of you know that we love Star Trek, and the children watch the original episodes every Wednesday with their dad. This was truly a treat for my kids. The exhibition was amazing. It spread across 15000 square feet and was full of original gadgets, uniforms, and many other items used in all five Star Trek television series and movies. Photography wasn't allowed in most areas, except by the staff. Nevertheless, we all had a blast. The kids enjoyed looking at the uniforms, phasers, tricorders, communicators, and many more gadgets. They loved being beamed up, learning about the Borg Cube, playing Star Trek trivial pursuit, and taking the role of the captain by sitting on his chair in the bridge.

Can you see us beaming up?

A Star Trek Family
Then, took a ride through Star Trek adventure in a full-motion simulator.

We found some of our favorite episode settings.

Most of all, we indulged ourselves at the souvenir shop.

(Just kidding!)

Thank you, Elijah, for a fantastic field trip.
