On Wednesday, June 5 we celebrated Anna's birthday. She had expressed a desire to attend a Giants game while here, so we got tickets for all of us and went to see the Giants, who ended up being beaten by the Blue Jays. The kids were bummed about the loss, but they all had a great time being together sharing jokes, eating stadium delicious assortments of food and snacks, and by trying to shout loud so they could be on TV. In short, we had a great time, and Anna enjoyed her birthday gift. The coolest thing was when Elijah's aunts got all the kids Giants shirts. They felt like true fans!
After the game, we asked Anna what kind of food she had been craving, and when she said she had been enjoying sushi as of late, we all headed toward a Japanese restaurant nearby. Surprisingly, my kids liked the food and didn't complain about any of it.
When we got home, Elijah surprised Anna with a lemon cake with strawberry icing. Wow, the combination was exceptionally delicious. What a blessing to have such a great baker at home! (Although, I don't know if my increasingly tight clothes agree with that.)
We ended our birthday party - yes you guessed it- with a game of baseball :)
