I grew up determined that life is at its finest when you
learn about it through books, create it through art, and experience it through
travel and service. My husband grew up having a very simple motto that life
offers you joy when you work hard and spend it with family and friends. Our
children, lucky as they are, get to taste the fun of both of those ideals.
Yesterday, Elijah and his father took our families and our friends to a
friend's field to pick corn. The kids enjoyed
working side by side picking corn, helping with the transportation, as well as
shelling some of it. Corn bread is going to taste so good! When we got to my
in-laws' home, they ran through the woods, swam in the lake, climbed trees and
hay bales, ate delicious food, and just had a grand old time. Childhood has
never looked sweeter!
